How to get the BharatNet connection?


The Union Cabinet of India gave its approval to the BharatNet project on the 30th of June 2021. The cabinet was chaired by the Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi on June 30th and approved the revised implementation strategy of BharatNet through Public Private Partnership or PPP in 16 states of the country.

By means of the scheme, the Optical Fibre network facility will be provided to all the rural areas and villages of the 16 States through BharatNet. An estimated viability gap funding of Rs 19,041 crore has been approved for the scheme.

Services provided

Through the BharatNet project, Connectivity will be provided to service providers like  TSPs, MSOs, LCOs, ISPs, and government agencies so that they can extend their services from Block to Gram Panchayats. The BharatNetProject is basically a middle mile network between the two. The services that are offered to the government injuries and service providers are listed below:

  1. Bandwidth
  2. BharatNet Tariff
  3. Dark fibre

Application process

In order to apply for the BharatNet connectivity you have to follow the steps mentioned below:

          Step 1:

  • Firstly, you will have to fill out the application form for BharatNet bandwidth or BBNL dark fibre
  • You can avail of the form from here.
  • Now, you are required to fill out the form by entering all the relevant details about your company, location, etc
  •  the relevant details should be filled in carefully
  •  the application form is now required to be signed by the authorised signatory
  • For BharatNet connectivity, The requirement one state or union territory only one application form is required to be filled
  • You will be required to attach the following documents to the application form:
  • MOA and AOA
  • The license of the company
  • GST certificate
  • Company PAN card
  • The idea of the authorised signatory and PAN card
  • Letter of authorisation of authorised signatory

          Step 2:

  • The service provider can now send the application form and the scanned copy of all the other documents to [email protected] to expedite the processing of the application form
  •  Copies of the documents and application form are needed to be submitted to the official address:

          Step 3:

  • After the receipt of the application, BBNL will issue a demand note to the service provider for making the payment
  •  the payment can be made through demand draught or pay the order in favour of BBNL collection account New Delhi
  •  The service provider can also make online payments through IMPS/RTGS/NEFT In accordance with the following details:
  • Customer name: BBNL Collection Account
  • Account no: 1098214000029
  • Bank Name: Canara Bank
  • IFSC code: CNRB0001098
  • MICR code: 110015025
  • After making the payment, a copy of the transaction details is required to be sent to the email address of  [email protected] [email protected]
  • Next, the unit wise note will be issued to the concerned BBNL field unit and BBNL NOC
  • Aur provisioning will be done in order to provide connectivity
  • When the provisioning is done, the billing cycle will start
