How to download a Duplicate PAN card using Aadhaar card?


PAN card serves to be an essential photo-ID document. It is also an integral document when it comes to filing taxes as the PAN card is issued by the Income Tax Department. Losing this document, therefore, is a big deal and having a duplicate reissued as early as possible becomes vital.

The process to file a PAN card is tedious as it involves filing an FIR.

  1. Visit the website of the Income-tax department: https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/ReprintEPan.html.
  2. Fill the form with details like PAN, Aadhaar number, date of birth, and GSTIN (optional)
  3. Check the box against the “Terms and conditions” declaration
  4. Enter the captcha code in the designated area
  5. You will be redirected to a new web page where you can scroll down and select the option to receive an OTP (one-time password), on your registered contact details
  6. Generate the OTP and enter the same in the designated field
  7. Click on the “validate” button to submit your request for the issuance of the duplicate Aadhaar card.

Can one apply for a Duplicate PAN card offline?

While most processes are online, there still remains an offline provision for people who are not comfortable with the online process. Here is how you can go about applying Duplicate PAN card offline.

  1. Visit your nearest CSC and download and print the “Request for a new PAN card and/or changes or Correction in PAN data”
  2. Use BLOCK letters and black ink to fill out the application
  3. Mention 10-digit PAN for reference
  4. If you are an individual applicant, 2 passport size photograph is to be attached and cross-signed carefully. The face should not be covered while signing.
  5. Necessary information needs to be filled up in the form and relevant boxes must be signed
  6. The application, along with the proof of payment, proof of identity, proof of address and proof of PAN has to be sent to the NSDL facilitation centre. After receiving a payment, a printed acknowledgement form is generated having a 15-digit number.
  7. The facilitation centre then sends the application to the income-tax PAN services unit for further action on your application.
