Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number issued by the Central government to all Indian citizens. An Aadhaar card is essentially an identification document that is issued by the UIDAI after recording and verifying every single resident Indian citizen’s details, including their biometric and demographic data. It can be used as a sole identification document. All banks and financial institutions use it as a Know-Your-Customer (KYC) verification mode and maintain profiles.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the organization responsible for issuing Aadhar numbers has given information on the Aadhar reprint service. Previously, everyone was required to link their phone numbers to their Aadhar Card, however, all the citizens of India can now download their Aadhar Card without using their registered mobile number from UIDAI’s official website: uidai.gov.in.
It has now become a much simpler process and it is no longer mandatory for a citizen to have a registered mobile number to download their Aadhar Card.
Here is the step by step guide as to how you can download it online:
Step 1: Visit the official website of UIDAI and click on the drop-down option on the menu on the right-hand side of the page saying, “My Aadhar”
Step 2: Under that click on the “Aadhar reprint” icon. You will then be asked to fill in your 12 digit Aadhaar number or 16-digit Virtual Identification Number (VID).
Step 3: Users additionally get the choice to go into a 16-digit Virtual Identification Number (VID) in preference to the Aadhaar card variety.
