As per the Indian road rules, there are some mandatory documents that one must acquire and hold if he/she wants to drive their vehicle on the road. These documents include the Driving License, the insurance Certificate, the RC (Registration Certificate), and the PUC ( Pollution Under control Certificate). It can be tedious at times to carry all these documents in person or the said vehicle. To ease this process, the Government of India has introduced a way of holding all the documents in a digitized form to promote the ‘Digital India’ scheme through the Digi-Locker.
Steps involved in downloading Driving License online
Whichever driving License will be certified by the Digilocker under the new Motor Vehicle Act by the government will be accepted in an electronic form. Digilocker is an application available both on Playstore and Apple Store. It can also be viewed in the website form.
- Logging in to Digilocker is the very first step
- The Get More option needs to be selected from the dashboard.
- The driving License will be typed in the search bar.
- The transport department of your state needs to be selected.
- A driving License will appear that needs to be accessed by providing some personal details.
- Check the terms and conditions and proceed with getting Documents.
- Save the Driving License in the Digilocker app for completion.
Online download of RC
- Login to Digilocker app/ website
- Select the Get More Now option
- Search Registration Certificate in the search bar
- Choose the Transport department of your state and fill in personal details
- After completion, the RC is automatically downloaded in the Digilocker app.
Online download of the Insurance Certificate
- Open the Digilocker app or website
- Login using credentials
- Select the Get More now option from the dashboard
- Select the option of Ministry of road transport and Highway – all-state.
- An option of a vehicle insurance certificate appears and needs to be selected.
- Enter registration number, check terms and conditions and click on the option containing gate documents.
- It is automatically downloaded.
Online download of the PUC Certificate / Pollution certificate
- The official website of transport needs to be visited
- Enter the registration number first and enter the last 5 digits of the registration number.
- Enter the given captcha in the image form
- Click on PUC details
- If a PUC exists and is valid, the details of it will be displayed which can be auto-downloaded in PDF form in the device being used.
The steps mentioned above describe how the necessary documents are available online for the consumer to access and display whenever needed. This digitization also enables a paperless economy which is good for the climate and the environment. The Police force of each state is updated with the current norms and has graciously accepted the change. The consumer cannot be charged or harassed should he/ she not carry a hard copy of the documents mentioned above. The shortcoming of smartphone availability is the only roadblock that stands in the way and is being worked on by the government.

- क्रेडेंशियल का उपयोग करके लॉगिन करें
- डैशबोर्ड से अभी और प्राप्त करें विकल्प चुनें
- सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग मंत्रालय – अखिल राज्य के विकल्प का चयन करें।
- वाहन बीमा प्रमाणपत्र का एक विकल्प प्रकट होता है और उसे चुनने की आवश्यकता होती है।
- पंजीकरण संख्या दर्ज करें, नियम और शर्तें जांचें और गेट दस्तावेजों वाले विकल्प पर क्लिक करें।
- यह स्वचालित रूप से डाउनलोड हो जाता है।
पीयूसी प्रमाणपत्र/प्रदूषण प्रमाणपत्र का ऑनलाइन डाउनलोड
- परिवहन की आधिकारिक वेबसाइट पर जाने की जरूरत है
- सबसे पहले रजिस्ट्रेशन नंबर दर्ज करें और रजिस्ट्रेशन नंबर के अंतिम 5 अंक दर्ज करें।
- दिए गए कैप्चा को इमेज फॉर्म में दर्ज करें
- पीयूसी विवरण पर क्लिक करें
- यदि कोई पीयूसी मौजूद है और वैध है, तो उसका विवरण प्रदर्शित किया जाएगा जिसे उपयोग किए जा रहे डिवाइस में पीडीएफ फॉर्म में स्वत: डाउनलोड किया जा सकता है।
