The National Career Service or NCS is a project started by the Ministry of Labour and Employment for job seekers in India. NCS has collaborated with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) iON in order to provide free training for soft skill development to get a head start in their careers.
The registered users can avail themselves of the course which comprises lessons on personality development, effective communication, corporate etiquette, ace interviews, interpersonal skills, group discussions, etc, free of cost.
The course provided is self-paced and can be pursued by ambitious learners on their own time.
TCS iON is a strategic unit launched by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in order to focus on manufacturing industries (SMB), educational institutions, and examination boards.
This unit provides end-to-end business solutions through the use of technology and software
Now that NCS has partnered with this unit in order to launch this unique training on career skill development that is very high in demand in the industry. The training available is offered in both English and Hindi on the NCS website. The main aim of the course is to equip the students to stay a step ahead of their fellow peers in the job market
How to enrol for the course
The candidates can follow the steps mentioned below in order to enrol for this course:
- The interested candidates can register through the NCS official portal and access the free course
- For registering, the candidates have to fill in the required details, like PAN, Aadhaar number, date of birth, e-mail, contact number, and other personal details

In conclusion
The ministry has implemented the NCS project to transform national employment service to provide a variety of employment-related services like job search, job matching, job training, job counselling, vocational guidance, information on skill development, apprenticeship and internship through one web portal.
There are around 1 crore active youth seeking jobs and about 54000 employers registered on the NCS portal. Approximately 73 lakh vacancies have been filled in through the portal so far.
