Pusa Krishi is an agricultural innovation hub known for its world-class technology, deep industry knowledge and transformative impact. As the sole nodal agency of the Government of India’s Department of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare for the largest agri-business start-up program RKVY-RAFTAAR, work day in and day out to create better-living conditions by making farming easy, inclusive and profitable.
The purpose of the Pusa Krishi Incubator program is to promote, protect, commercialize and license technologies developed by scientists for the agricultural industry. The Pusa Krishi Incubator program focuses on the incubation process, including StartUps and Farm Producer Organizations (FPOs). The Indian Council of Agricultural Research and the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR IARI) connect the agricultural sector with the corporate world and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in one business model
Objectives
Incubation refers to the improvement and development of new businesses in the following:
- Creation of employment prospects for young people in agriculture and related sectors.
- To be an international centre of excellence for agribusiness incubation
- Increase the competitiveness of Indian Agri-Startups on a global scale
- Building an ecosystem that breeds and fosters innovation and entrepreneurship in agriculture.

UPJA
Commissioned by Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY-RAFTAAR), the Government of India, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, launched the UPJA, an incubator program focused on agriculture. SAMARTH

ARISE
ARISE 2019 is considered the launchpad for agricultural startups. The Government of India with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare was the main factor in the establishment and implementation of the scheme. Advantage to Start-ups
The startup is subject to the approval of its product/program/process until established. This approval phase is called pre-marketing. The startup needs the ability to use the Pusa Krishi Incubators during its pre-commercialization phase, which means: conducting Minimum Viable Product (MVP) testing and assessing the consumer market.
