LIC has built up a dedicated site named ‘Online Services,’ which is an on-demand premium collecting service, to allow customers to pay for their plans and policies in a secure and simple manner. Customers can conveniently make policy payments in real-time and securely using net banking through this service.
They can also pay for LIC policies online using a credit or debit card. Customers who have registered and enrolled on their LIC policies on the LIC website are eligible for this service. Some key factors to keep in mind when making payments through the Online Payment Gateway are as follows:
- You will be required to click on ‘Pay Premium Online’ under this option.
- You will then be led to a new page with two options: ‘Pay Direct (Without Login)’ and ‘Through Customer Portal’.
- If you pick ‘Pay Direct (Without Login),’ you will be taken to a screen where you may choose from the following alternatives –
- Premium renewal/revival
- Repayment of a loan
- Payment of LIC premiums in advance
- Payment of loan interest
- If you select ‘Through Customer Portal,’ you will be taken to a screen where you must input information such as your user ID, password, birth date, and so on.
Online payment for registered users
If you have registered your policy on the LIC website, you can pay the premium for your insurance via the LIC website’s e-Services function. The following are the steps for making premium payments utilising that facility:
Step 1: Navigate to the LIC India website. Locate the ‘Online Services area’ on the home page and click the ‘Pay Premium Online’ option.
Step 2 – This will take you to a new page with two options: ‘Pay Premium through e-Services’ and ‘LIC Pay Direct’ To select the first option, click on it.
Step 3 – You will be taken to the LIC e-Services website, where you must select the ‘Registered User’ option.
Step 4 – The following screen will prompt you to enter your LIC login ID and password. Fill out the form with the required information and click the Submit button.
Step 5 – In order to obtain your policy data, you must first enrol your insurance on the website.
Step 6 – In the e-Services area, look for the ‘Enrol policies’ tab. Simply click on it.
Step 7 – After you click on it, you will be prompted to provide your policy number and the amount of the premium due.
Step 8 – Next, on the left side of the page, click on the button labelled ‘View enrolled policies.’
Step 9 – A page with a code will then be presented. Fill in the code and press the ‘Submit’ button. Following that, you will be able to view your policy details.
Step 10 – Once you’ve logged into the online services portal, you’ll be able to see all of your enrolled plans.
Step 11 – After reviewing the policy details with customer support, you will find a “Pay Premium online” option to make the payment online.
Step 12 – Next, click on the ‘LIC Pay Premium Online’ page to view the list of policies that you have enrolled in your LIC account.
Step 13 – From this screen, select the policies for which you want to pay the premium and then click the Submit button to confirm your choice.
Step 14 – You will be routed to the payment gateway page, where you can choose to pay using net banking or your credit/debit card.
Online payment through Debit/Credit card
Aside from net banking, you can also pay your LIC policy premiums with your debit card. The procedure is straightforward and simple to grasp. Payments by debit/credit card will be processed through the IDBI Gateway. To begin the process of making a premium payment using your debit card, simply follow the steps outlined under ‘LIC Online Premium Payment Through Net Banking’. Following that, the following stages have been listed:
Step 1 – When you click the circle next to ‘IDBI Gateway,’ you will be taken to another page where you can see the Convenience Fee and Service Tax associated with each Card Type. Determine the service tax applicable on your payable amount by identifying your card type and the amount of premium you must pay. Then, press the Submit button.
Step 2 – You will then be led to a website where you will be prompted to input your credit card information in order to complete the transaction. You will most likely be prompted to input your debit/credit card number, card expiration date, CVV2/CVC2 number, name on the card, email ID, and cellphone number.
Also, enter the captcha code that appears in the box. You may also be able to make a payment using an OTP, ATM PIN, or a password.
Step 3 – Select Pay. You will receive a receipt for the payment made to the email address you entered or the one associated with your LIC policy.
