Tourism in India has grown significantly over the years. Every region of the country contributes something to the country’s enthusiasm and splendour. The languages, people, traditions, cuisines, customs, festivals, dance, music, religious practises, art and craft, and holistic healing traditions reflect India’s rich diversity.

In order to encourage tourists from other countries to visit this beautiful country, the Indian government introduced the e tourist visa scheme in November 2014. This was implemented in nine different Indian airports and 43 different countries. In April 2015 and January 2015, the Government of India extended the scheme to all citizens of Sri Lanka and Guyana, respectively.

The etourist visa facility was extended to 31 more countries in May 2015. With more countries being added, the scheme now includes 76 countries. To expand the scheme to more countries, a phased approach will be used. To promote and encourage Indian tourism, the government intends to expand the e-visa scheme to 150 additional countries.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for an e-tourist via, a person needs to fall under either of these categories mentioned below:

International visitors planning a short visit to India for sightseeing, recreation, meeting friends and relatives, a casual visit, a business visit, or medical treatment.
The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival in India. The passport should have two blank pages for the immigration officer to stamp.
International visitors must have an onward or return ticket, as well as sufficient funds to cover their stay in India.
International travellers of Pakistani origin or with a Pakistani passport may apply for a regular visa.
Official and diplomatic passport holders are not eligible for an E-tourist Visa.
Each person must have their own passport. People who are endorsed on the passports of their spouse or parent are not eligible for an E-tourist Visa.
This visa is not available to holders of an international travel document.

Documents Needed for an E Tourist Visa

The passport’s first page must be scanned and sent in PDF format. The minimum and maximum file sizes are 10 KB and 300 KB, respectively.
The uploaded photo must be in JPEG format. The minimum and maximum file sizes are 10 KB and 1 MB, respectively.
The photo’s width and height should be the same.
The photo should be taken in front of you, full face with your eyes open.
The centre head should be within the frame, and the entire head, from hair to chin, should be visible.
The background can be white or plain coloured.
There should be no shadows in the background or on the subject’s face.
The photograph should not have any borders.

Procedure for Application

You can apply for an E-tourist Visa online by uploading a copy of your passport and a photo.
You can pay the visa fee online with a debit or credit card.
Your E-tourist Visa will be emailed to you.
Whenever you want to visit India, print the E-tourist Visa and keep it with you.

ई-पर्यटक वीजा

दूसरे देशों के पर्यटकों को इस खूबसूरत देश की यात्रा के लिए प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए, भारत सरकार ने ई पर्यटक वीजा योजना नवंबर 2014 में। इसे नौ अलग-अलग भारतीय हवाई अड्डों और 43 विभिन्न देशों में लागू किया गया था। अप्रैल 2015 और जनवरी 2015 में, भारत सरकार ने क्रमशः श्रीलंका और गुयाना के सभी नागरिकों के लिए इस योजना का विस्तार किया।

पात्रता

आधिकारिक और राजनयिक पासपोर्ट धारक ई-पर्यटक वीजा के लिए पात्र नहीं हैं।
